Group 1 Australian Derby winner Levendi began the next chapter of his career in 2021 when he was secured to stand at stud in Tasmania following the Inglis Digital May Online Auction.
By champion sire Pierro and out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Lipari, Levendi brought together one of Australia’s most respected and proven bloodlines. A Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 winner, he retired with more than $1.7 million in earnings and a race record that showcased speed, toughness and exceptional middle-distance ability.
As a racehorse, Levendi announced himself early with an impressive two-year-old victory before progressing into one of Australia’s leading three-year-olds. His career was highlighted by victories in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes, Group 2 Tulloch Stakes and the prestigious Group 1 ATC Australian Derby.
Speaking at the time of his retirement to stud, trainer Manny Gelagotis expressed strong confidence in Levendi’s future as a stallion.
“He’s the sort of horse that if he gets the right support, I think he’ll be a star because he was bred to be a star, he was a star on the track, he’s a two-year-old winner, a Group 1 winner, it all adds up.”
Levendi’s arrival represented an exciting opportunity for Tasmanian breeders to access a proven racehorse with elite pedigree credentials and a genuine Group 1 profile.
Over the years that followed, Levendi became much more than a stallion. He became a much-loved member of the Magnum Park family, leaving an enduring legacy through both his progeny and the countless people whose lives he touched.
His story continues through his offspring, and through the memories he leaves behind.
